How to Wash a Printed Cotton T-Shirt: Engine Study Care Guide

A consistent care routine helps you look after both the cotton garment and its print. For KARVIT Engine Study tees, start with the instructions supplied with your garment and use the routine below.

Before washing

Turn the tee inside-out so the printed face has less direct contact with other garments. Separate colours where needed and avoid washing it with items that have exposed hooks or abrasive fastenings.

Wash inside-out in cold water

Use cold water and a gentle routine. Follow your detergent instructions and the garment label. Avoid aggressive scrubbing over the printed area. If a mark needs attention, treat it carefully rather than rubbing hard across the artwork.

Dry on low heat

Keep drying heat low, as directed for Engine Study. Do not assume high heat will be harmless because the fabric is cotton. If air-drying, support the garment without stretching the neckline and avoid leaving the print against a very hot surface.

Iron inside-out

Turn the garment inside-out before ironing and keep the iron away from direct contact with the print. Follow the garment’s ironing guidance. Do not use the artwork as a test area for heat or steam.

Store without stressing the print

Let the tee dry fully before putting it away. Fold gently or hang it on a hanger that supports its shoulders. Avoid stretching the artwork while dressing or storing the garment.

What kind of print is Engine Study?

The collection uses DTF-printed artwork. Illustrated depth is part of the image; the graphics are not physically raised mechanical parts. You can find fabric and print details on each Engine Study product page.
